Max Turned Five???

I still can't believe it. I was looking for these photos under his Fourth Birthday album, that's how hard it is to believe. He is the sweetest little guy ever. And like everyone else at his birthday party, he didn't stop moving

As usual, Shauna outdid herself and puts Martha Stewart to shame, making everything herself and perfectly.
Kyle had the camera and caught this really sweet moment between Max and Grandpa Ray.
Max bounces instead of sliding.

Jered (on two hours of sleep) and Riley who snoozed through a chunk of the party.
Riley's snoozing spot was on Grandma Diane.
Another pretty baby!! It's Sully!!!
Grandpa Greg helps with Max's shoe after a short bounce in the bouncy castle.

Maya was so excited by the play area set up she hardly played she just ran from one thing to the next like she thought it was too good to be true. Because of this, there aren't a lot of photos of her or Max playing because they never stopped moving..unlike the babies who just looked sweet and drooled and smiled. (Riley actually didn't cry when I talked to him, this is a big step for him..because Aunt Clare makes him cry). Two seconds on a toy..and then off again. !

Yeah!! Happy Five Year Old!!!

Another Birthday Party

Maya had a birthday party on her birthday at Grandma Paula and Grandpa Jeff's. She got to eat supper with Great Grandma and Grandpa Elsie and Jim and Grandma. She was too excited (and sleepy, she had had an early nap that day) to eat much. She got to play with her buddy Wylie who, as usual, let her torture him as the photo shows. She'd yell,"Kitty Cat!" and chase after him. And pull his hair enough to lift him off the ground. Did he freak out? No. He is the most baby proof cat ever. Then she sat on him. He ran away.

Once again, she wasn't interested in presents (except the clothes which she tried to put on..oh, and the shoes!!) and didn't try to open them. She did try a little cake and smiled really big when she ate it. What she was in to, was walking and walking and walking.

She is getting so big. Today she said, "Up." Tomorrow, brontosaurus.

This afternoon she goes and has to see the pokey ladies for her 12 month well baby check up. Wish her luck induring the dreaded pokey's.

kisses!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAYA!!

Today is Maya's birthday. One year ago today, the best thing in the world happened. A little girl came into my life, turned it upside down, and now makes my heart skip everytime she sticks her toes in my face for me to tickle. I fall to pieces when I see her up in the window pounding on the glass, smiling, and waving at me when I come home from work. It's one of my favorite parts of the day.
Here are a few pictures from her party in Ames. Grandma Jo, Auntie B and Uncle Jason, Uncle Jered, Aunt Shauna and cousin Max, Grandpa Greg, Cousin Nika, Great Grandpa Roy, The Pregitzer's, and other friends all stopped by to watch Maya try cakie for the first time.
She just wanted to eat her apple and was not interested in eating cakie.
This is as interested in cakie as she got.

Later she played in the pool for the first time! She loved it, and she loved having Max and Nika (and Lucy) there to enjoy the water with. She also loooovvveeddd Grandma Jo's kitties Pete and Poirot. She loves them kitties.
It was a great weekend, she played really hard and slept really hard!

Now, she misses her Grammy. I showed her pictures and she snuggled up to me and smiled.

Happy Birthday punkin'!! We love you!!

Spring

These photos are from last Tuesday when we went to Siamville with Jered, Shauna, and Max for Brynna's birthday. I wasn't quite prepared for the cute nose kisses between Max and Maya so sorry that's blurry! Last Friday I got sick and I'm still in the land of serious cold so I haven't been taking any photos. But in Maya news she's starting to test us with tantrums which is loads of fun. If we put our drinking glasses where she can't reach them, she cries for them. If I hand her her sippy cup instead of my glass, she throws in on the floor. She cries when we say "No standing in the tubby." She's a firecracker.

She won't say "Bah Bah" when you ask her ("Bye, Bye"), but she'll yell it once you leave. "BAH BAH!!"

Max's 4th Birthday!!

Over the weekend we went to Ames for Max's 4th Birthday party which was at his Grandma and Grandpa Pregitzer's.
We watched Max open presents (yeah!!).

We watched Max blow out his candles (woohoo!!).

We watched Max zone out on frosting (so funny!).
And. we watched Jered blow a bigillion bubbles while Max took his bat to most of them (fabulous).
Grandpa Greg helped Maya pop a couple. Her first bubbles!!

It was a great day to celebrate a wonderful guy whom Maya absolutely adores.

We also spent time at Grandma Jo's and had fun playing with her kitchen set with Max, and going up and down Grandpa Greg's two little stairs at his house.

Maya played so much she slept the whole way home!

Maya recognizes the names "Pete" and "Max" and will try to say them when she sees them.

This morning she's trying "Ah Oh". It's like this "Ah, ah, ah."

Geese, Appie Sauce, and Mustacheo Basheos?

The Mustacheo Basheo has finally come and gone. It was a little stressful for Maya who doesn't do well when over stimulated, but she did sit and talk people's ears off once a majority of the party patrons had left.

She loves to talk, especially in conversations. If you are talking to someone, she has to interject..and she just goes on and on. She has also learned how to push off one sock, and bounce herself in her chair. She has been really fussy this week leading us to believe that teeth may be sprouting soon. (Here she is riding the mustacheo pinata! Viva La Mustacheo Revolution!!) Speaking of sprouting and hair, it's starting to look like she's growing some. On her head of course. That's a fake mustache.

I also have included a picture of her eating cereal mixed in appie sauce which, of course, she loves so much she tries to feed herself!

And last, a picture from the park last week when the geese were big enough to eat her. Whole.

Home Again

Maya had a busy weekend. We went to Grandma Jo's house for the Fourth of July and threw a small "meet the baby" meet and greet on Saturday. As usual on the way to Ames Maya cried in the car for twenty minutes before falling asleep for the rest of the trip. Everyone says, "Well, baby's love car rides..." Not this baby. Although, she did do a lot better on the way home.

Maya's puppy cousin K'nute was staying at Grandma's too. So she got a lot of little puppy kisses from her as well as many snuggles and hugs from family and friends. In the picture below, Maya and K'nute are all tuckered out taking their baby naps together. Maya from a long cry in the morning, K'nute from playing with the kitties all morning. (And yes, we know it plainly says on the Boppy "not to sleep on" but we thought we'd try it because she loves sleeping on her side and if she didn't sleep on it, K'nute would sleep in it. And of course she was watched the whole time.)

Maya's milestones for the week were smiling, finding her hand to chew on (just a little), and watching her surroundings more. Everyone comments on how she follows mommy's voice around. (And daddy's too!) She's crying less and less which helps mommy and daddy out a lot. And she's still an amazingly good nighttime sleeper which really really helps mommy and daddy out a lot.
