Maya had a busy weekend. We went to Grandma Jo's house for the Fourth of July and threw a small "meet the baby" meet and greet on Saturday. As usual on the way to Ames Maya cried in the car for twenty minutes before falling asleep for the rest of the trip. Everyone says, "Well, baby's love car rides..." Not this baby. Although, she did do a lot better on the way home.Maya's puppy cousin K'nute was staying at Grandma's too. So she got a lot of little puppy kisses from her as well as many snuggles and hugs from family and friends. In the picture below, Maya and K'nute are all tuckered out taking their baby naps together. Maya from a long cry in the morning, K'nute from playing with the kitties all morning. (And yes, we know it plainly says on the Boppy "not to sleep on" but we thought we'd try it because she loves sleeping on her side and if she didn't sleep on it, K'nute would sleep in it. And of course she was watched the whole time.)
Maya's milestones for the week were smiling, finding her hand to chew on (just a little), and watching her surroundings more. Everyone comments on how she follows mommy's voice around. (And daddy's too!) She's crying less and less which helps mommy and daddy out a lot. And she's still an amazingly good nighttime sleeper which really really helps mommy and daddy out a lot.
