Christmas Day In The Morning, and Evening....

A lovely sight on Christmas Day, Maya loves her Rowie.
I was so busy helping Maya open presents Christmas Day while Kyle shot video, that I didn't get any photos..boo. This is what Santa left her the night before.
These are all pictures from Christmas at Great Grandma and Grandpa's house. Maya opened "The Mystery Machine" and was done with presents. She literally refused to open anymore. Can you blame her? It's the freakin' Mystery Machine Man! Her princesses ride in it too.

A whole bunch o' candy face!!

Maya loved Great Grandma's Christmas displays of tiny little things..and she loves nativity sets. "Oh, here's the baby Jesus, let him in the barn." She let the cow, donkey, and sheep in first. And of course the wise men because they have beards like daddy.

Happy New Year!!

Kismas!!

Maya has loved Christmas this year. She talked about it for a month. She's still talking about Santa. She loved her tree. It was "bootiful" as she says. Unfortunately she had a fever of 103 for three days during Christmas. Grandma Paula still let us come over for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we spent at home opening presents and having Christmas croissants.

(On Christmas Eve that sneaky Santa came and put the Christmas tree on the coffee table, and all the presents underneath. In the morning after a fitfull night of sleeping and doses of children's tylenol Maya awoke and looked out in the living room. "Christmas, Santa, around" she said. She loved it.

She got all the Gabba Gabba's and a Gabba dvd so that mommy and daddy no longer have to watch Halloween Gabba Gabba (Maya still sings it). She talks to her Gabba's. "Fufa, nananaundastuff?" Actually, I think she interrogates them because everything she says is a question to them. (At supper at Hot Harry's tonight she was talking to Cookie Monster he was standing behind me, I totally didn't see him there! I think he wanted her cookie.)

That afternoon we all took a three hour nap together. And then went back over to Grandma Paula's for the evening. Oh Man (Maya says that now...thanks Swiper) I still have to upload Christmas in Ames from the weekend before!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAYA!!

Today is Maya's birthday. One year ago today, the best thing in the world happened. A little girl came into my life, turned it upside down, and now makes my heart skip everytime she sticks her toes in my face for me to tickle. I fall to pieces when I see her up in the window pounding on the glass, smiling, and waving at me when I come home from work. It's one of my favorite parts of the day.
Here are a few pictures from her party in Ames. Grandma Jo, Auntie B and Uncle Jason, Uncle Jered, Aunt Shauna and cousin Max, Grandpa Greg, Cousin Nika, Great Grandpa Roy, The Pregitzer's, and other friends all stopped by to watch Maya try cakie for the first time.
She just wanted to eat her apple and was not interested in eating cakie.
This is as interested in cakie as she got.

Later she played in the pool for the first time! She loved it, and she loved having Max and Nika (and Lucy) there to enjoy the water with. She also loooovvveeddd Grandma Jo's kitties Pete and Poirot. She loves them kitties.
It was a great weekend, she played really hard and slept really hard!

Now, she misses her Grammy. I showed her pictures and she snuggled up to me and smiled.

Happy Birthday punkin'!! We love you!!

Max's 4th Birthday!!

Over the weekend we went to Ames for Max's 4th Birthday party which was at his Grandma and Grandpa Pregitzer's.
We watched Max open presents (yeah!!).

We watched Max blow out his candles (woohoo!!).

We watched Max zone out on frosting (so funny!).
And. we watched Jered blow a bigillion bubbles while Max took his bat to most of them (fabulous).
Grandpa Greg helped Maya pop a couple. Her first bubbles!!

It was a great day to celebrate a wonderful guy whom Maya absolutely adores.

We also spent time at Grandma Jo's and had fun playing with her kitchen set with Max, and going up and down Grandpa Greg's two little stairs at his house.

Maya played so much she slept the whole way home!

Maya recognizes the names "Pete" and "Max" and will try to say them when she sees them.

This morning she's trying "Ah Oh". It's like this "Ah, ah, ah."

Christmas Part II Grandma Jo's Part I

Grandma Jo's Christmas had a lot of activity going on which fascinated and excited Maya. All those cousins and all that paper!! Gifts being handed out and ripped opened! She wanted to put it all in her mouth.

Maisie takes a break.
